Bas Dirks

Abstract chalk drawing in silvery greys: a dense weave of modelled planes suggests a standing figure, a teardrop head resting on shoulders at the top. Long white chalk strokes cut across the volumes and anchor in neighbouring planes; muted blue, red and yellow accents thread through, gathering in a spiralling basket of lines at the bottom. Metallic, bodily and quietly tense.
